John Steinbeck joined our Lodge in 1929. Steinbeck's father, mother and both grandfathers were members of our Lodge as well. We believe Steinbeck join to spend quality time with his family and help him figure out life and find a career.
Steinbeck's signature in our Lodge book from May, 29 1929.
Steinbeck's Master Mason certificate. This was found in his New York apartment after his death.
The High Noon Club of 1929.
When Steinbeck moved to New York he withdrew from Salinas Lodge. We like to believe he intended to join a Lodge in New York and got busy with life and his new career. He kept his paperwork his whole life and spoke very kindly of the craft in his books.
